If You Don't Build It, They Will Come, and They DID! ...Again ...and Again... This, March 2006 Spring Faire
2006 finds another first in our 30-year tenure in another unusual turn. The lightning-struck master cottonwood tree on the east banks became a shared roost after losing its life to the hit, much to our despair. Early arrivals again having followed a sparkling silver thread to our door, our friendly gliders having claimed its crown for morning drying of wings and the usual chat that became the normal sight summers since the hit, having left the torch for their enjoyment. However, last year, our friendly gliders completely deferred their claim to a family of Great Blue Heron leaving bitter-sweet memories unveiled in the craney.html pages herein. Gliders graciously dry their wings in a morning rainbow of Light elsewhere [for those who see] while 2006 finds not one but TWO families of Great Blue nesting in what's becoming a summer condo for the faire. Mystified we ponder. What could it mean? What message would this be bringing to us... or calling to the new owners? A note of import: we ask that people refrain from bothering and scaring them away. Please allow them their nesting and keep out, or if you must, please stay clear in canoes and rowboats... if you would, please. The property IS for sale should you find it so appealing.
Second coming finds geese en faire with woodduck swimming in a rainbow of Light [for those who see] en sentry close behind. First appearances on the final photo would seem a slip of the camera with a half-eaten suet cake centerstage. Looking closer off to side, find last year's triplets, just as bold, nibbling brush twigs gathered during spring cleaning... as if they'd ever left... Find mom off camera in the north gardens hearing the latest from wild turkey en their usual morning parade. The daily faire... daily... in your window... at your door.
Bonus Pages! More to come in an endless cache of Nature and Her stories of mystery, adventure and intrigue. Check back should the spirit move...for those
who know.
Casual private bidding starts @ $2,599,000... for those
